Something that should have turned out inedible ended up very, very tasty. I had lots of lime juice to spare. Since I recently found a recipe for lemon jelly I thought I'd try that. In the end, there was no fresh thyme to be had. Same with lime zests. Except for the sugar I substituted everything else: lime instead of lemon, no zests at all, ( Read more... )

What seemed to look hopeless has taken a surprising and unexpected turn into kind of a minor thing. That's the way I generally prefer things to end up. We got darn lucky.

Another stop on the long, winding road to Siem Reap. Phnom Suntuk is a hill on whose top a famous temple with even more famous Buddha statues had been built. It's also famous for a bit of floating rock (probably of volcanic origin) and and its huge colony of wild monkeys. Nine pictures under the cut:
